Class Descriptions:
Mommy and Me - Join us for fun arts and crafts inspired by our favorite
books. Story Time, Painting, Clays, Collages and Crafts!
Preschool - Each week will focus on a different letter of the alphabet. Students will practice their letters and then do an art project based on the letter of the day. Fine art techniques are taught, as well as some art history. Drawing, Painting, Clay, and Collage are all included.
Kindergarten and 1st grade "Mini Masters" - Students will learn all about famous artists and their lives and create artwork just like they did. Drawing, painting, collage, and
clay are all included.
Drawing and Painting people and places - Practice your observation skills by drawing
people and places in this class that will feature pencil, charcoal, oil and chalk pastels, watercolor, and acrylic paint.
Famous Artists - Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture - Learn all about famous
artists and use their techniques to recreate their artwork and your own
designs as well!
Unusual Architecture: Students get to design and create their own one of a kind structure. Sometimes the girls like to call them dollhouses, we just call them “buildings”. The sky is the limit. If they can dream it, we figure out a way to make it happen. After they have designed their structures, they also get to be interior decorators and create all kinds of furniture, decorations, and people (or animals) to go inside.
The Art of Fashion and Costume Design: An artistic journey into the world of fashion design. Students will learn about the relationship between art and fashion and function as they journey through time and learn about costume history. Students will also learn about figure drawing, and altered clothing. A student fashion show will conclude the session.
Mosaics: Learn all about this fascinating art technique and create your own one of a kind mosaics. Several techniques will be taught as well as the history behind mosaics. We have a feeling students will walk away with a few prized works of art!
Clay Animal Sculpture: An exciting hand building clay class that will feature four large animal sculptures with attention to fine detail. Students will be learning about and using armatures to help them build these large sculptures. Sculptures will be fired and students will paint using pottery glazes and mount on wooden bases.
