Preschool - Each week we will present a favorite story book with matching fine art inspired arts and crafts. Drawing, painting, collage, and clay are all included.
Kindergarten “Mini Masters” - Become a mini master by learning about famous artists; their lives and recognizing their artwork. Kindergarteners will have a great time recreating the works of well known artists. Drawing, painting, collage, and clay are all included.
Pottery and Ceramics – Students will learn different techniques in hand building clay treasures. They will also learn about the firing and glazing process. Students will take turns learning to use a pottery wheel and throwing their own pots. Perfect class for those who just want to use clay, clay and more clay!
The Art of Fashion Design - Students will learn about the creative process behind fashion design. They will practice their sketching skills, learn basic sewing and pattern making, and we will have a great time learning to drape fabric to create couture designs! Students will learn about famous fashion designers, costume history, and how the fashion industry is influenced by the art world and vice versa. We will be teaching the recent trend in using recycled materials to create new fashion called Upcycling!
(ok for students to repeat this class and continue learning about design)
Drawing and Painting Animals - Practice your observation skills by drawing all different types of animals in this class that will feature pencil, charcoal, oil and chalk pastels, watercolor, and acrylic paint.
Book Club - The Fall session will feature A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle and Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. Students will read sections of the book each week and our class will consist of book discussion and creative art projects related to each section. Parents need to review each book to make sure it is suitable to their child’s reading level and their interest. Drawing, painting, collage, and clay are all included. A copy of each book will be provided to students, please add $10.00 to tuition cost.
Threadbare Theatre for Puppetry Arts - This class incorporates puppet building, puppet manipulation, music composition, set-design, and play writing, it is a true synthesis of the visual and performing arts. Students will use recyclable materials and other found objects to create an array of puppets, from shadow puppets to marionettes (and everything in between). Students will create a short puppet play for their puppets, complete with dialogue and background music. The students will then perform their original puppet play as part of their end of the semester project.
Collage - A great class for the artist who likes to combine different types of materials and glue them all together. We will be creating both 2d and 3d works of art using many varieties of art supplies and incorporating different fine art techniques. Must love glue!
Craft Club - Incorporating different fine art techniques into fun crafts is the focus and fun of this class. Class will include drawing and painting, collage, clay, basic sewing, pottery painting and more. No kits allowed because imagination is a must for creating personal, fun, decorative and usable works of art.
Futurized!! - The future is yours! Dream, design, and build your idea of transportation, living, playing and working in the future. Imagine space ships, robots, and teleportation devices and create your own idea of the future. Drawing, painting, junk art, and clay are all included.
