Frequently Asked Questions
Can I register without paying?
We need a registration form and payment to confirm your child’s enrollment. The summer is very busy, this helps us organize effectively and order supplies.
How do I register?
Registration is on-going until a class is filled. Please see the website for class availability.
Call 817.348.0505 to register by phone with a Visa/Mastercard
or, fill out a registration form and fax to 817.348.0690
or mail it with payment to:
Van Grow
3434 W. 7th St.
Fort Worth, Texas 76107
You will receive a confirmation call when we receive it.
Do you have a sibling discount?
Yes, you can deduct 10% off the second, third (etc…) child’s tuition.
Do you offer any before or after care?
We do not offer aftercare during the summer. Children must be picked up at the conclusion of the class. However, we do open the doors 15 minutes prior to class beginning and we have a 15 minute allowance after class ends. We ask that you respect the teacher’s preparation time in not arriving before or after this.
Paint on the clothes!
Art is messy! You can assume that every time your child comes to Van Grow, they will leave with paint on their clothes. Please dress them appropriately. Van Grow provides a rare opportunity for your child to be as messy as they want…take advantage of it! We do provide paint smocks but they don’t always help.
How do I know if there is room in a class?
We’ll keep the website as updated as possible. Also, if we receive a registration form for a full class, we will contact you immediately and ask if you want to be on the waiting list. Credit cards will not be charged and checks will not be deposited until placement is confirmed.
The camp I want is full, what are my chances on the waiting list?
Pretty good! Usually we have some shifting around and are able to accommodate. If it’s not looking good for you, we’ll let you know so you can make other plans.
Do you give refunds?
Sorry, no. If you register your child for a class and you have a change of schedule, we ask that you accept a studio credit to be used at another time. Studio credit will be given ONLY if you contact us BEFORE the day of class. “No Shows” do not receive a studio credit. We are usually able to fill a spot in a class with someone on a waiting list, but if you don’t tell us, then we can’t do that and we lose out. When you register for a class, we immediately start planning for supplies and employees based on your registration. We REALLY appreciate your understanding in this policy. Studio credits do not have an expiration, you can reschedule a class at any time.
What time should I arrive?
We always open the doors 15 minutes prior to a session beginning. We ask that you wait until we open the doors so that we can properly prepare for class. If it is your first time coming to Van Grow we encourage you to arrive then, look around, and meet the staff.
Is it ok to be late?
It’s hard to start the class without everyone because then we have to start over again each time someone shows up. Please make it a point to be as timely as you can.
YOUR PARKING LOT IS TOO SMALL!!!!
Yes, we know, it’s awful. Here are some helpful hints:
1. The best idea is to park on 6th street and walk your child to Van Grow.
2. Or, consider arriving 15 minutes prior to class.
3. ALWAYS exit through the alley to 6th street to avoid a bottleneck situation.
Can we enter through the front door?
Sorry, no. Please always enter through the back doors. It is for your child’s safety that everyone enters and exits through one open monitored door. The front door is used for emergencies only.
My child has a severe allergy.
Please call Hanna at 817.348.0505 to discuss your child’s condition. Also, remind us of your child’s allergies every time you enroll your child in a class. We sometimes serve little treats or have a food related craft. We need to know about ALL food allergies on the registration form as well as being reminded when you drop your child off.
Do you use toxic art materials like glue or aerosol sprays?
No. We do not use any type of aerosol sprays inside the building and only non-toxic glue. We do not use any paint that would require paint thinner.
Do you do background checks on your employees?
Yes, everyone.
Can just anyone come into Van Grow during classes?
No, we keep the doors locked at all times.
Behavior problems?
It rarely happens but if your child becomes so disruptive that it is affecting the rest of the class’s progress, we will call you and see if we can work out a solution.
